We are proud to provide a stimulating environment where  our students learn exceptionally well and develop the life skills that will prepare them for the future. We have high expectations for all students to work hard so that they reach the highest levels of attainment possible, but we also place the utmost importance on student welfare and personal development, ensuring we provide support that promotes student wellbeing and living healthy lives.

Our ultimate aim is to help students grow into deeply considerate, responsible, compassionate and community-aware young people, well-equipped to succeed in further education and able to gain, and thrive in, employment of their choice. Our ethos of ‘All Different, All Equal, All Achieving.’ underpins everything we do here at Aston Manor Academy.

We have over 750 students in years 7-11 and over 250 in our sixth form. This results in a friendly, close-knit community in which every individual is valued and supported.

Aston Manor Academy sixth form

Our sixth form has grown significantly over the years and we continue to welcome external students to join our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ provision.

We have a proven track record of 100% of our students going on to their preferred higher education course or apprenticeship.

We have a range of pathways to cater for all students’ needs. These include A-levels, BTEC Level 3 and a Level 2 Pre-Apprenticeship programme.

We have a highly successful sports academy too, with a range of sports including football and basketball to choose from. Through our links with Aston Villa Football Club, our sports students receive daily professional coaching and our teams regularly participate (and win) in national leagues. The outstanding support they receive enables many of our students to continue their expertise at university, gain highly-coveted sports scholarships and make crucial links with professional clubs.

We are incredibly proud of our highly-qualified, experienced and committed ‘family’ of staff, our high-quality pastoral care and our excellent facilities, all which have been developed to make students’ learning more effective.

We warmly welcome visitors and we would be happy to show you around so you can see for yourself the outstanding quality of education and caring environment we provide here at Aston Manor Academy and our sixth form.

Vision and values

Aston Manor Academy has an outstanding reputation for providing an excellent education for all its pupils in a friendly and nurturing environment.

Our staff are highly qualified, experienced and committed to ensuring that every pupil reaches his or her potential. Our staff are highly qualified, experienced and committed to ensuring that every pupil reaches his or her potential.

We couldn’t be prouder of how our pupils conduct themselves, both in school and outside of school. Visitors often compliment them on their confident and courteous behaviour. In every lesson, pupils’ efforts and conduct are monitored by staff and commendation stamps are recorded in their planners at the end of each lesson. This ensures that pupils’ progress are monitored and where pupils are working well, that they are rewarded. It also demonstrates to staff where pupils could try harder or where there are possible concerns.

Through our reward system, we  can show parents how on their child is progressing on a daily basis. It also draws on a support network which involves form tutors, heads of department, heads of years, assistant headteachers, parents and, ultimately, the headteacher and school governors.
